Hey there! 👋 I’m super excited to share that today I’ve kicked off a brand-new challenge that’s all about reconnecting with nature and improving overall wellbeing. I’m calling it the #ReconnectToTheNatureOfU 30-Day Challenge, and I’d love for you to join me on this journey!

Why This Challenge?

As we head into the final stretch of the year, I’ve noticed a shift in my routine. Working from home a lot this month, Christmas season approaching, and the colder weather tends to make me want to batten down the hatches, cosy up inside, and hibernate. However, I’ve realised that this pattern can make me feel disconnected from the outside world—and that’s not great for my mental health or wellbeing.

That’s when I decided: It’s time to make a change. And what better way to do that than by taking 20 minutes a day to step outside, breathe fresh air, and really reconnect with nature? 🌿

What’s the Challenge?

The idea is simple but powerful: I’ll be spending 20 minutes outside every day for the next 30 days to build a daily habit of self-care, focus on my wellbeing, and enjoy the benefits of spending time in nature. It’s easy to forget how much nature can do for us, but research shows that time spent outdoors can reduce stress, improve mood, and even enhance our creativity and focus. I’ve decided to document my journey on social media, sharing daily updates, prompts, and real-time reflections. I’ll be using the hashtag #reconnecttothenatureofu so you can follow along, and I encourage you to post your own experiences too! Whether you’re spending time in a park, your backyard, or even a nearby nature trail, this challenge is a great way to inspire and motivate each other to make self-care a priority.

Why Themed Days?

One of the best ways to make a habit stick is by giving it purpose and intention. So, I’ve created themed days that will help us focus on different aspects of wellbeing. For example, Mindful Monday today has been out a breathing exercise outside for five minutes as part of a walk. I captured this one on video here.
